Increases range by 40

Dark Companion
Dark Companion
Cost300

At the beginning of the battle, summon 1 Wraith at the same Rank as Abyss.

Photon Coating
Photon Coating
Cost300

Covers the unit with a photon coating, decreasing damage received by 30% within 25s after the start of the battle, and grants immunity to Electromagnetic, Ignited, Acid, and Degeneration Beam effects

Disintegration
Disintegration
Cost400

Bombards enemy ground units within a 250m radius every 15s, causing them to lose 20% of their current HP and reducing their movement speed by 40% for 5s.

Swarm Missiles
Swarm Missiles
Cost500

Launches 46 missiles at nearby ground enemies every 15 seconds. Each missile deals 400 with a range of 200m. Damage increases by 400 per unit Rank increased.

Strategy

The Abyss’s weapon is very unique and largely dictates its ideal usage and counterplay. It deals damage 20 times across a distance of about 160 meters over 2 seconds. The larger the enemy, the more times it can be hit by the same beam. A sledgehammer, and anything smaller, can be hit once, while a War Factory may be hit 11 times. Because the entire beam can be distracted by a single crawler, the Abyss must be supported by strong chaff clear. As Abyss is a large target for enemy DPS to lock on to, support from units like Sandworm, Sledgehammer, and Wasp is vital to make it as difficult as possible to target and kill the Abyss. To aid its chaff clear weakness, the Abyss can spawn its own Wraiths with Dark Companion. Notable transformative technologies include Disintegration, which makes Abyss even better against giant units with massive percentage HP damage, Swarm Missiles, which delete Fangs and low-level Mustangs, and Vertical Sweep, which may allow sniping towers or key units like War Factory earlier in the round. Photon Coating and Wreckage Recycling are niche techs which may allow Abyss to take on a tank role as a gutshot tactic.
