MAG1 Season 4.5
In Season 4.5, the tournament again started with 32 top players competing in 2 days of private ladder. The top 8 players ranked by MMR then proceeded to compete in a GSL-style format. Once more, [201] dominated the first stages, bringing 6 players into the top 8 and managing to create an all-[201] semifinals for the first time in the tournament’s history. The finals starred Flower Fairy once more, with Habsburg joining him for the first time. The finals featured several nailbiter games, as Habsburg got off to a roaring start. However, with his experience, Fairy managed to claw back from some scary situations avoiding falling behind 1-3 and eventually winning the match 4-2. With this victory, Flower Fairy became the player with the most wins in MAG1 tournaments, totalling 3. Much like the previous season, Tarantulas were extremely prevalent during the tournament, often paired with Phoenix or Raiden. While aggressive play was most common due to Tarantula or Sabertooth starts being favoured, long-range matches saw much use of Marksmen, Arclight, Stormcaller and Sandworm.
