MAG1 Invitational
The Invitational was the very first tournament hosted by MAG1 and featured 6 different 5-player teams, each representing a region of the world. Germany [301] was the first team to get eliminated, followed by Russia [401] in Round 2. Underdog team France [101] exceeded expectations by making it into Round 3, but unfortunately hit too big a hurdle at that stage of the tournament. A similar fate was met by Finland [601], who were unable to beat the Chinese powerhouse team. Finals starred tournament favourites China [201] and America [501], battling each other in a King of the Hill format. During the finals, both teams traded 1 win at the start. But things were looking to rapidly go South for America when Feng Feng took out 3 players all by himself, leaving Apooche as the last line of defence. Against all odds however, Apooche pulled off one of the craziest comebacks in MAG1 history by defeating all 4 remaining Chinese players and claiming the victory for team America. Meta-wise, Fortresses and Melters saw a lot of play in both aggressive and defensive situations, whilst Stormcallers dominated long-range matchups.
